FFXIV: What is Duty Roulette?

Duty Roulette is a part of FFXIV that lets players sign up for groups that will help them complete a dungeon or trial, which are usually called duties.

The player’s unlocked content will be used to choose the duty.

All in all, there is a lot to do in Final Fantasy XIV.

It’s been online since 2010, and three updates have added more to the story and a lot of new dungeons and trials for players to fight through.

And you have to do a lot of these things to move forward in the Main Scenario Quests.

So how does XIV make sure that new players sign up all the time to clear out old content?

The answer is to play Duty Roulette.

Most types of duties have their own roulettes, and completing them gives you more EXP and Gil. You can sign up for Duty Roulette through the Duty Finder. Just hit the U key on your keyboard and go from there.

You can wait in line for Roulettes as often as you want, but you can only get the extra rewards once a day.

But killing monsters will still give you the usual EXP and Gil, and loot will still drop in the instances as usual.

Once you’ve unlocked a few different types of Roulette, they’re a great way to speed up your leveling every day and earn Tomestones for endgame gear.

If you join the Duty Roulette queue as a tank or healer, you might be able to get an extra bonus from the “Adventurer in Need” reward. This is a way to encourage people to play roles that are in short supply at the moment.

Even if you’ve already gotten your daily reward, you can still get Adventurer in Need, and it will stack with your daily reward if you haven’t gotten it yet.

How To Unlock Duty Roulettes (And What Are The Different Types?)

Roulettes usually become available after you’ve done at least two of the required tasks, and they get bigger as you learn more.

Most likely, the Leveling Roulette will be the first thing you see. This will be your best friend for a while.

It will have all the dungeons and trials that require a Light Party of four players before the 50/60/70 Roulette starts.

At level 10, you can get access to the Guildhest Roulette. But Guildquests aren’t required, so it’s easy to miss them. This Roulette will show up after you’ve finished the first two, and it will get bigger as you finish more.

There is also a Roulette for Trials that focuses on the Full Party (eight players) content that starts with Cape Westwind at level 49. This doesn’t include the first set of Primal battles, which only need four people to play.

The Raid Roulette is split into two subcategories based on how many players are needed to finish them.

Alliance Raids are all the 24-player raids that are no longer considered new content. This includes Crystal Tower, which is now required to move forward in the MSQ.

The Normal Raid Roulette is pretty much the same as the version for eight players.

And there are only two Full Party dungeons in the Main Scenario Roulette: Castrum Meridianum and The Praetorium.

This is the Roulette I try to stay away from the most. If you’ve been in both of these dungeons before, you probably know why.

You can’t skip any of the cutscenes from beginning to end, and there are a lot of them.

Roulette: Frontline is for PvP content, and players who have worked hard enough to become mentors can access a roulette that helps struggling groups.

But getting the Mentor Roulette is a huge task in and of itself. You have to do almost every dungeon, trial, and raid in the game to get it.
