Kratos, the Ghost of Sparta, is a very rageful character in video game history. His path through the “God of War” series is lined with the now-dead gods and humans and each demise is as gruesome as the next can be.
Throughout the game series, Kratos butchers several gods and people, beginning with the original set of gods from Greek mythology and then moving through Norse in the sequels. Here’s a breakdown of every god and mortal that Kratos has killed thus far:
Greek Gods and Mortals Slain by Kratos
The first of his rampages is that of the Greek gods who played with his life. All his kills In the Greek saga are caused by a motive of betrayal, revenge, or survival instincts.

This act also symbolically means the end of Olympian’s control and takes Kratos very deep into Hell.
Hercules: Demigod and Hero
The legendary figure of Hercules considered a hero of Greek mythology is killed by Kratos in “God of War III.” Looking to assert his dominance and raise jealousy and desire for recognition among his comrades, the god Hercules challenges Kratos to a fight but this quickly shows how outclassed he is by Kratos’s brutality.
Poseidon: The God of the Seas
Kratos’ killing of Poseidon is one of the game’s most visually pleasing and tragic scenes found in “God of War III.” When the god of the seas is vanquished then seas rise and cause floods all over the world and symbolically demonstrate the havoc caused by Kratos to the titan leviathan.
Norse Gods and Mortals Slain by Kratos
Following the end of the Greek mythos, Kratos is transported to the world of Norse and comes across yet more gods and creatures of the myth. His is a story of survival and a disgruntled warrior but the death toll remains elevated – resurrecting from the dead is possible but so is killing.
Baldur: The Aesir God
Odin’s son, Baldur, who is an Aesir god, and is incapable of feeling pain, becomes one of the major villains in ‘’God of War (2018). Despite a lot of assassination attempts on Kratos and Atreus, the death of Balder is brought by his pride and Kratos’s erm violent fighting skills. This death alone sets off a chain reaction that will bring about Ragnarok.
Magni and Modi: Sons of Thor
In the second game both Magni and Modi, Thor’s sons died trying to kill Kratos and Atreus to show the gods they could do it. But Watch/Crash the pair of gods are defeated by Kratos. Their deaths do not make Thor happy and at the same time give way to Kratos’ confrontational clash with the god of thunder.
Heimdall: The Watcher of Asgard
In “God of War: Many fans remember “Ragnarok,” Kratos is threatened to throw him into a battle with Heimdall, the all-seeing guardian of Asgard. His death of Heimdall points to the extreme implication of Kratos in Ragnarok and escalates the enmity between Asgard’s gods and the Ghost of Sparta.
Thor: The God of Thunder
As a final boss, Kratos fights one of the strongest characters in the God of War series – Thor. It Might make Thor the god of thunder unbeatable but Kratos has it otherwise. It is their honor, revenge, and destiny and it ties into Kratos’ final battle with Odin directly.
