We all know sward art online is very popular and some times sword art online characters often get criticized as bad and unsuitable for the plot.
I personally have seen many SAO characters get bad mouthed and they also get negative feedback sometimes I agree with the feedback and with some I don’t.
But all this doesn’t matter what matter is the question at hand who is the best sword art online characters.
Lets begin the list of 21 best sword art online characters without wasting any time.
21. Silica
This character from Sword Art Online is very kind, bright, happy, and helpful to her friends. She has also grown very close to her Tamed Monster Pina.
When it died, it broke her heart, and when she heard there was a way to bring it back to life, she was overjoyed.
Due to her fame, Silica got cocky at one point, but she realised she was wrong when she got lost in the Forest of Wandering and lost Pina.
Silica is also easily embarrassed and flustered, especially in romantic situations like grabbing Kirito’s hand, seeing a lot of couples around her, or having a monster flip her skirt.
20. General Eugene
During Eugene’s battle with Kirito, it became clear that Eugene likes to fight strong Sword Art Online characters, since Kirito was able to fight with him for 30 seconds.
Eugene said that he changed their duel into a death match because he really wanted to kill Kirito.
Eugene is Lord Mortimer’s brother in the game, and it’s likely that he is also his brother in real life.
19. Agil
Agil is a character in Sword Art Online who is always looking out for other people. He is friendly and always willing to help.
He is also someone you can count on, like when he defended the beta testers against Kibaou, gave Kirito a place to stay, and helped players on lower floors.
He can also be a leader on the battlefield, and he will help his friends and fellow soldiers no matter what.
Kirito said that Agil had spent all of his money helping mid-level players level up, even though Agil seemed like he only cared about the money.
18. Talken
Talken is a Leprechaun youth in Sword Art Online. He has small eyes, neat brass-colored hair, and round glasses with iron-rims that make him look like a student.
Talken uses Ancient-level weapons and armour in battle. He wears copper-colored light armour and wields a very long lance.
Nori says that Talken often gets nervous when talking to girls because he stuttered when he first met Asuna.
17. Nori
Nori, like all Spriggans, has darker skin, grey wings and black hair. This sword art online character, on the other hand, has thick eyebrows and lips and a big body, which are not typical of Spriggans.
Nori goes into battle with comfortable armour that isn’t made of metal, a black choker, and a long quarterstaff made of steel that almost reaches the ceiling of an inn.
Nori was sick, like the rest of the Sleeping Knights, and had to go to end-of-life care because of it.
16. Klein
Klein is one of the nicest characters in Sword Art Online, and when he’s around, the mood changes. He doesn’t hold grudges against anyone and is always willing to help.
He cares a lot about his friends and always wants to fight with them when they are in danger.
He even got mad when Kirito was fighting Death Gun and said that Kirito should have also changed to Gun Gale Online.
He gets angry when people put themselves in dangerous situations because he wants to keep as many people alive as he can.
15. Administrator/Quinella
Quinella was a very pretty character in Sword Art Online. Her long silver hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows could look blue or white depending on the lighting.
Her eyes were silver and seemed to reflect all seven colours in a prism.
She was full-figured, wore light clothes hemmed with silver “Stacia Window” threads, and had an open neckline.
14. Death Gun
Shinkawa Shouichi and Shinkawa Kyouji made Death Gun, a group that used an in-game avatar named “Sterben” in Gun Gale Online (GGO) to make it look like a player could be killed in real life from within a virtual world.
I know this isn’t a character from Sword Art Online, but I wanted to include them because they are so powerful in the series.
Their goal was to make the GGO players, and to a larger extent, all VRMMO game players, afraid of how powerful they were supposed to be.
Death Gun wore a rare cloak called a “Metamaterial Optical Camouflage mantle.”
13. Renly
Despite having once been a prodigy swordsman, Renly had lost the courage to fight after accidentally taking the life of his childhood friend, which resulted in him developing a post-traumatic fear of killing.
This fear of battle was only exacerbated by an inferiority complex Renly developed due to failing to invoke the Armament Full Control Art for his Divine Object and failing to fulfil his duty as a knight.
Regardless of his genuine capabilities with his weapons, which demanded a high level of concentration to use properly.
12. Sinon
This sword art online character’s personality is best described by the words “calm” and “cool.”
She stays calm in battle and most of the time in the game, which makes her friends respect her.
Sinon has a violent temper when she gets mad, which is most clear when she talks to Kirito.
People say that Kirito was the first person to make her really mad.
Sinon is still a friendly person who doesn’t mind helping others, even though he might be hard to talk to.
11. Alice
Alice worked hard and was determined to learn the Sacred Arts.
Even though she was a serious person, she was also adventurous and sometimes even naughty.
For example, she found holes in the Taboo Index and was willing to travel far to the Mountain Range at the Edge, even though it was dangerous.
Alice has blue eyes that sparkle and long, golden hair that is tied on both sides of her head. At the back of her head, there is a braid with a bow at the end.
10. Oberon
Nobuyuki hides who he really is, especially around Asuna’s father, but when he and Kazuto are alone, he shows who he really is.
Nobuyuki is a businessman with no morals and a lot of money. He kidnapped 300 SAO players for his experiment on how to control the mind, which he planned to sell to other companies.
Nobuyuki also has a bad habit of blaming others for his problems, especially Kayaba, who he thought caused all of them.
9. Yui
Yui had become melancholic when the death game began, as she was not allowed to comfort players and was forced to continue monitoring their psychological parameters.
When she finally, after nearly two years of only seeing insanity, misery, and anger, noticed a couple, expressing happiness and joy.
She became overwhelmed with curiosity, which led to her ignoring the Cardinal System’s command not to interact with players.
8. Kirigaya Suguha
Unlike her cousin Kazuto, Suguha is upbeat and outgoing. She is much more social and converses easily with others.
Even when Kazuto began to push her away after finding out they were not really siblings, she still treated him with good spirit and tried to get back in his life.
She can be very aggressive towards those that annoy her or cross her and can easily lose her temper.
This is demonstrated in one case when Recon attempted to kiss her after confessing his love to her and she punched him.
7. Heathcliff
Even though Kayaba Akihiko’s true form only showed up a few times in the series, he was always very calm, soft-spoken, and cool.
Even though he was very skilled, Akihiko was not boastful or cocky. When Kirito beat him and finished Sword Art Online, he accepted defeat with grace.
Akihiko seemed very honest and thoughtful when he told Kirito about his dream of making a floating castle. This showed that Sword Art Online was based on this dream.
6. Asuna Yuuki
Before she met Kirito, Asuna didn’t care if she died in the game.
That meeting changed Asuna’s personality and way of looking at life in a big way.
She soon starts to listen to most of what Kirito says and uses him as a sort of lifeline.
Asuna is a nice, helpful girl who, like Kirito, can’t leave someone in trouble alone.
She takes the game very seriously and wants to finish it before Kirito tells her to relax and enjoy SAO.
5. Vassago Casals
PoH is a cold and sadistic person who spread the idea that, as players would actually be killed by the mechanism of the NerveGear when a player’s hit points reached 0.
The designer of the mechanism, Kayaba Akihiko, would be the culprit of the murder, thus players had the right to kill other players and enjoy the game.
This idea lured and brainwashed several orange players into going on a mad Player Killing craze and led to the first murders in the game.
4. Bercouli
Bercouli was an extremely self-confident and prideful man due to his immense battle experience.
However, Bercouli was also overconfident, as he showed much composure in front of Eugeo, by saying that he would spare his life, as Fanatio’s life was protected, and he continued chatting despite knowing that Eugeo was chanting an «Armament Full Control Art».
He stated that he did not hold grudges, but was willing to take revenge if his disciple was killed.
3. Eugeo Synthesis Thirty-Two
Eugeo was a kindhearted and considerate sword art online character who thought about the needs of others as well as his own.
For example, when he first met Kirito during the latter’s second dive, Eugeo noticed that Kirito was hungry, and thus shared his food with him.
Furthermore, Eugeo always offered to help his valet with her duties and attempted to minimise her workload.
He also tried his best to maintain a good relationship with his valet by participating in bonding sessions with her and even scolded Kirito for trying to avoid the sessions.
2. Konno Yuuki
Yuuki was the kind of sword art online character willing to live life to the fullest even in her critical condition, when she died peacefully in happiness.
She believed some things must be done in forceful means for the other party to understand.
Yuuki had short, black-brown hair and, in the final moments of her life, she had extremely pale skin, which made her look very sick
1. Kirito
Kazuto is a character in sword art online who is almost always calm and collected and rarely shows any signs of stress.
When Kayaba Akihiko said that Sword Art Online had turned into a Death Game, Kirito was able to quickly adjust to the game’s new rules and act right away to improve his chances of staying alive.
But Kazuto is a good person who is willing to give up himself to help others.
