With the start of a new season of Code Geass – or a new product, in fact, I believe that it’s prudent to announce an order for a set to watch Code Geass.
If you’re not interested in the films as well as OVAs of the show, and just want to know the storyline of the show and want to watch it, the order for watching is incredibly easy.
But, as we approach the release of “Z of the Recapture“, it could make the anime more difficult to understand for people who aren’t familiar with the series.
Therefore, I want to equip the new fans with the right information.

Remember how I mentioned that If you watch only anime, your watch order is easy? This is because the only anime series purchase for Code Geass is:

The specials above are definitely worth watching, the labelled OVAs on the other hand are less so. As for the movies and spin-offs, continue on below.
What is Akito the exiled?
Akito the Exiled is a spin-off series that is a spin-off of OVAs that are categorized and some of them as films. In essence, it is set in Europe between Season one and the second season of the series.
It’s totally free to watch and doesn’t contribute anything to the Lelouch story although he makes his debut briefly. If you like exploring the universe of Code Geass, it adds more flavour to that.
Do the Movies add to the Story?
The first three movies are basically the recap of the main series. The scenes have been altered and rearranged. Certain events are different however the overall plot is the same.
I recommend these if you’ve watched the show in the past and are looking to refresh yourself along with some fresh snacks.
For Resurrections, this is more closely related to the films as opposed to the series. It takes the smallest modifications to the films and combines them into this film.
It’s not much of a contribution to the story, but it does add a lot to those who have watched the earlier films.
Actually, it’s this movie that makes other films worth watching because its different sequence of events becomes fascinating due to it.
